Jezzinspired, Nigeria’s next best act in the music industry.
Jezinspired is a Nigerian artist from the Igbo tribe, Imo State to be precise, christened, Abaronye Jeremiah Uzoma, he was born in Lagos and studied Office management science in the Niger Delta University Bayelsa State.
He began singing in the church choir from a young age and was also a good dancer.
Jezz grew up with Daniel LLoyd (Nollywood actor), his uncle and was really inspired watching Daniel Llyod. There was also the presence of Timaya at the time, Daniel Lloyd was still Timaya’s manager. Watching these two great superstars fueled his drive and further propelled him towards his quest to make a mark in the entertainment industry.
In his words, “growing up around Timaya, Daniel Lloyd, Wrecobah, Tj2solo, Allenian and the likes, watching them write songs and performing, made me crave to be like them. I knew music isn’t an easy thing to do, so I was ready to learn from them, seek their advice and grow to become a super star.”
When he moved to the Niger Delta University, he and some friends came together to start a record label, ‘BSC Records’, and did a couple of songs together. Even though they didn’t really make it big, Jezz learnt a lot, became better lyrically and his quest to be a super star was still in motion. He moved to Ghana and continued singing after joining another record label. Things didn’t work out well for him and the record label so after two years, he moved back to Nigeria, adding the Ghanaian vibe to his style of music.
The journey back to Nigeria had him arrive in Lagos where he met Zlatan, Shina Peters and some others. His desire for music became more intense.
Recently, Jezzinspired dropped a single, ‘Wedlock’, which is already making waves. He is also working on his first album and shows no sign of slowing down, “It’s a journey and I would continue going, be it crawling, walking or running”.
