President of the Youth Wing of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Pastor Emmanuel Iren, has declared that Nigeria must overcome its challenges and fulfil its potential, pledging both prayer and practical action toward nation building.

The founder of Celebration Church International made the statement after a courtesy visit to military personnel in Lagos, where he commended their dedication and commitment to protecting the country.

Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, Pastor Iren described the encounter as inspiring. “Courtesy visit to the Military Watch men of Lagos yesterday. I felt their heart for the Nation. Good men!” he wrote.

While acknowledging the importance of prayer, Pastor Iren stressed that national transformation requires action alongside faith.

“In prayer we will pray. In action we will act. Nigeria MUST work,” he stated.

His comments come at a time when many Nigerians continue to express concerns over insecurity, unemployment, poverty, and economic hardship, issues that have sparked increasing calls for collaboration between government institutions, faith based organisations, and civil society groups.

Humanitarian Initiative for Vulnerable Nigerians

Pastor Iren also revealed that the PFN Youth Wing is preparing a humanitarian initiative targeted at helping vulnerable Nigerians. According to him, volunteers will soon be mobilized to support the project.

“The PFN Youth Wing will be asking for volunteers to help us execute an idea that will go a long way to help vulnerable people. When we call you, please answer,” he said.

Although details of the initiative have not yet been made public, the announcement aligns with the PFN Youth Wing’s broader vision of combining spiritual influence with practical social impact.

A New Direction for PFN Youth

Pastor Iren was inaugurated as President of the PFN Youth Wing in 2025, leading the youth arm of one of Nigeria’s largest Pentecostal bodies. The organisation represents millions of young Christians across different denominations nationwide.

During his inauguration, he unveiled a youth focused agenda that included leadership development, doctrinal training, campus fellowship partnerships, political engagement initiatives, welfare support programmes, and outreach efforts across Nigeria.

His leadership has increasingly emphasised unity, responsibility, and active participation by young people in national development.

Why The Military Visit Matters

Pastor Iren’s visit comes amid ongoing conversations about the role of security agencies in maintaining stability across the country.

By engaging directly with military personnel, the cleric highlighted the often overlooked sacrifices made by security officers who work behind the scenes to safeguard lives and property.

The visit also reflects a growing effort by faith leaders to build stronger relationships with institutions involved in national security and social development.
