Olamide Drops Star-Packed Anthem ’99’ Ahead of Self-Titled Album Release
Nigerian rap heavyweight Olamide is back on the spotlight with the release of his latest single, ‘99’, a high-octane, star-studded track that unites some of Afrobeats’ most electric names. It Features Asake, Seyi Vibez, Young Jonn, and Latino sensation Daecolm. The record sees the genre titans dive into the infectious 3-step Afro House rhythm currently sweeping through South Africa’s music scene.
For fans, ‘99’ is more than just a new banger—it marks the first-ever collaboration between Asake and Seyi Vibez, two breakout stars who reshaped Nigeria’s soundscape in 2022. Their joint appearance signals a major moment in Afrobeats history and raises anticipation for what’s next.
The track follows closely on the heels of ‘Kai’, Olamide’s breezy Konto-flavored duet with long-time collaborator Wizkid. Released on April 29, ‘Kai’ is a flirtatious, money-flashing anthem that reaffirms the chemistry between the two music giants—whose creative synergy spans more than a decade.
‘99’ serves as the lead single off Olamide’s forthcoming self-titled album, slated for release in June 2025. The 17-track project will be the rap icon’s 11th solo album, following his 2023 project ‘Ikigai’, which featured standouts like ‘Metaverse’, ‘Habibi’, and ‘Uptown Disco’ with Asake and Fireboy.
With an illustrious career that has birthed numerous chart-toppers and nurtured talents like Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Fireboy, and Asake through his YBNL label, Olamide continues to redefine success in Nigerian music. As he gears up to drop yet another genre-blurring album, ‘99’ reaffirms his staying power and unmatched ability to curate the sound of a generation.
