New Arena named ‘Rema’s Dome’ in Honor of Rema
The Governor of Edo State, Governor Obaseki recently named an Arena after the Nigerian afro beats’ superstar, Rema.
The arena which is expected to become a major attraction to draw visitors who intend to experience the rich cultural heritage of Edo people, is set to rise on the site of the former Garrick Memorial School Ground on Ekenhuan Road. It is also expected that when completed, the arena will create employment opportunities for local youths.
Governor Obaseki on his X handle expressed his pleasure saying, “It was a pleasure to have our global music icon @heisrema join me in performing the groundbreaking ceremony for the 6,000-capacity Edo Arena. The arena will be named ‘Rema’s Dome’ and will host a wide range of events including concerts, national conferences, symposiums, and more.”
Rema, who hails from Benin city is one of the proud ambassadors of the state.
