There’s no doubt saying that Ayra Star is one of Africa’s biggest artists.

The Grammy-nominated singer who is still enjoying massive airplay from her recent album, ‘The Year I Turned 21’, was confirmed to have reached 2 billion Spotify streams.

Recall that her recent album has already surpassed 500 million Spotify streams.

According to Spotify data aggregating platform Kworb,  Ayra has over 2 billion streams as at October 10, 2024.

Two songs from the album ‘The Year I Turned 21’ has over 400 million streams. Her hit single ‘Rush’ has accumulated over 409 million Spotify streams while Rvssian’s ‘Santa’ on which she made a guest appearance has over 455 million Spotify streams.

Libianca’s ‘People’ a song she was featured alongside Omah Lay, has reached 106 million streams while her hit song ‘Bloody Samaritan’ has totaled 82 million streams.

Indeed, the year 2024 has been a huge success for her. Ayra recently earned four nominations at the 2024 MTV EMAs. She will be competing for the Best New Artist, Best African Act, Best Afrobeats Act, and Best Push respectively.

With this official confirmation by Spotify, Ayra Starr joins Tems, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Rema, CKay, and Davido as Nigerian artists with over 2 billion Spotify streams across all credits.
