2Baba’s Seven Children Celebrate Him as He Turns 51

For 2Baba, turning 51 came with one of those moments money and fame cannot buy. The Nigerian music veteran was surrounded by family, friends and colleagues as he celebrated his birthday in Lagos, but it was a heartfelt message from his children that became one of the most touching moments of the celebration.
Born Innocent Ujah Idibia, 2Baba turned 51 on September 18, 2026. The music icon marked the milestone with the release of his new single, “Mental,” featuring Fave, before hosting a birthday dinner and listening party for his forthcoming album, Oldest Young Man, in Lagos the following day.

Seven Children, One Special Message
2Baba has eight children, and seven of them came together to celebrate their father through a pre recorded birthday video.
In the video, the children wished the singer a happy birthday, expressed their love for him and thanked him for being a good father. They also wished him peace and happiness, turning what could have been another celebrity birthday moment into something much more personal.
The children featured in the video are Nino, Ehi, Zion, Justin, Isabell, Innocent and Olivia.
While all seven participated in the birthday message, four of his children were physically present at the Lagos celebration, joining their father and grandmother, Rose Idibia, for the festivities.
A Birthday Filled With Music
The celebration was not only about cake and family pictures. 2Baba used the occasion to give guests a preview of his forthcoming album, Oldest Young Man, while also introducing his new food business, 2Baba Jollof.
The gathering brought together several familiar faces from Nigeria’s entertainment industry, including Faze, Wande Coal, Ayo Makun, Tony Tetuila, African China and Spyro.
The presence of Faze was particularly nostalgic, considering the pair’s history as members of the legendary group Plantashun Boiz alongside Blackface.
Natasha Osawaru Was Not at the Celebration
One person noticeably absent from the birthday gathering was Natasha Osawaru, 2Baba’s wife and an Edo State lawmaker.
Multiple reports noted her absence from the September 19 celebration. However, no confirmed reason for her absence was provided in the reports.
For now, the focus of the birthday celebration remained firmly on 2Baba, his music, his family and another milestone in a career that has stretched across several generations of Nigerian music.
51 Years of 2Baba
From the Plantashun Boiz era to his transformation into 2Face Idibia and eventually 2Baba, Innocent Idibia has remained one of the enduring figures in Nigerian music.
His 51st birthday therefore became more than just another age milestone.
