Ayra Starr Teaming Up with Tems and Tyla?
Ayra Starr has sparked excitement among fans after hinting at upcoming collaborations with fellow Afrobeats powerhouses, Tems and Tyla. The Mavin Records star made the revelation during an interview on the red carpet of the recently concluded MOBO Awards.
When asked if she had plans to work with the Grammy-winning duo, Ayra Starr responded with enthusiasm, referring to Tems and Tyla as “my girls” and confirming that a collaboration is on the way. Given their dominance in the industry and their shared global appeal, the possibility of a joint project has left fans eager for what’s to come.
A monumental night at the MOBO awards
Ayra Starr didn’t just drop hints about collaborations—she also made history at the 2025 MOBO Awards in Newcastle. The singer won the Best International Act, triumphing over global icons like Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, and GloRilla. This victory makes her the first Nigerian female artist to claim the prestigious award, a title previously held by Afrobeats heavyweights Burna Boy and Wizkid.
In addition to this, she also took home the Best African Act award, further solidifying her place as one of the biggest names in contemporary African music.
A meteoric rise
Since her breakthrough in 2021 with her self-titled debut EP, Ayra Starr has consistently proven herself as a force to be reckoned with. Hit singles like Bloody Samaritan and Rush have gone diamond in France, expanding her reach far beyond Africa. In 2024, she achieved another career milestone with the biggest Afrobeats song on Spotify for the year.
Now in 2025, she has already set the tone for another stellar year with the release of All The Love, a track that beautifully blends Afrobeats with R&B. With potential collaborations with Tems and Tyla on the horizon, Ayra Starr’s star power is only growing stronger.
Could this be the ultimate all-female Afrobeats anthem?
